Belle Haven is an unincorporated riverside community in Fairfax County immediately south of Alexandria's own city limits, along the Potomac just past Old Town. Like the rest of unincorporated Fairfax County it has no municipal government of its own -- Fairfax County governs it directly -- but it sits close enough to Alexandria that many residents consider it a neighboring extension of the city.
